The Assessment Process, Part II

As I am preparing for my assessment, I will be needing 5 or 6 student volunteers to be students in a couple of "Mock Assessments" prior to my real assessment, and then for my Real Assessment which will take place sometime in September. Let me know if you would be willing and able to participate in these special classes.

For my assessment I need to teach a 45 - 55 minute class to a group of 5 or 6 students. I will be assigned 3 poses that I have to include in the sequence for my class. I have to add a Head Stand and a Shoulder Stand variation to the sequence. I may add one other pose, if necessary, to help me teach the assigned poses.

My assessment class will most likely be held during the day on Saturday, September. 27, time TBD. (That is my first choice for the date. But, I have not been assigned, yet.) If you are able to be there for that, I will need a firm commitment as I will be observed by a panel of assessors.

Prior to that, I will create a couple of “Mock Assessments”. These classes will be structured the same way, but they will merely be dress rehearsals. When these will occur will be dependent on my volunteer’s schedule. You would be a good candidate to help me if you are a regular student of mine, you can do Head stand and Shoulder stand away from the wall, and you are game to play with some of the poses on my Level 2 Syllabus. (These are the poses I have been teaching in my classes recently.)

These classes will take place in my home studio. The panel of assessors will be zoomed in to watch me teach you. The classes are free, but not open to anyone. I need to carefully choose my students. Please let me know if you have any other questions and if you would like to volunteer. This is a great way to get a couple of extra yoga classes in for free.
